After a few months deliberation, InfoTek Information Systems Inc.( Shanghai , China ) represents Photon Engineering ( Tucson , Arizona , US ) to conduct a series of software announcement seminars of FRED – an excellent optical design software worldwide but seldom known to Chinese people until recently. The first seminar is held on April 1, at one of the prestigious school in Optics- University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. During the 3-houred seminar session, engineers from InfoTek demonstrated FRED via on-site operation and real world application case study, to reveal various characteristics of FRED, including its unique advantages over other peer software. Audience of the seminar are impressed to learn the outstanding capability of FRED. Four consecutive seminars are held later in April, at X iamen Internation Conference & Exhibition Center ( Xiamen , Fujian , China ), Tianjin University ( Tianjin , China ), Changhai Jiao Tong University ( Shanghai , China ) and Wuhan University ( Wuhan , Hubei , China ), respectively. All seminar audience, including scholars from university optical experts from industry, are overwhelmed by superior optical design capability of FRED. A free Essential Macleod tutorial session is co-held with FRED seminar, this new marketing approach by InfoTek also acquire affirmative acknowledgement of the audience. |

FRED -an optical simulation design software from Photon Engineering ( Tucson , Arizona , US ), was designed and developed by former ASAP and TracePro key engineers. ASAP is a product of Breault Research Organization(BRO, Tucson , Arizona , US ), TracePro is from Lambda Research Corporation( Littleton , Massachusetts , US ), both ASAP and TracePro are considered to be excellent software. While FRED remedies their weaknesses and being more user friendly, faster, and much higher performance/cost ratio , FRED is now ready to applied to the palace of lighting optical design. FRED 's superiority can easily extend to all geometric optical design territories, including: general lighting systems light pipe, projection system, laser, interference, stray light analysis, ghost image analysis, bio-medical optics, etc., to name just a few. Macleod -Essential Macleod is a well-known and prestigious software for thin film design and analysis. It supports a true “ muti-files interface ” on any 32-bit Microsoft Window environment. Essential Macleod also provides anything needed to design and evaluate all varieties of thin film design categories: including DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) filters. Essential Macleod calculate s a wide range of performance parameter s for a given coating design , including the usual reflectance and transmittance magnitude and phase . In addition, it also calculates color, ultrafast, ellipsometric quantities , from the zero'th upto the third derivative as a function of wavelength . Other than that, Essential Macleod is capable of refin ing or integrating with the exi s ting design , estimat ing the effects of random errors in the layers , and e xtract ing o ptical c onstant s of the thin film material. |
